The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers quality therapy services to patients by implementing treatment in accordance with the established treatment plan to achieve goals to maximize functional outcomes in an inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) setting. The PTA provides care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and actively participates in discharge planning. The PTA is responsible for maintaining professional and ethical standards following the guidelines of the State of Texas Board of Examiners for Physical Therapy.
Services are delivered within an interdisciplinary team approach, involving the patient and significant others, in compliance with CommonSpirit, St. Joseph's mission, ethical standards, and policies and procedures.
