Under supervision from the Medical Director, the Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering physical therapy treatment programs as prescribed by a physician. This position provides comprehensive rehabilitative care using various therapeutic techniques, equipment, and assistive devices to improve or restore patient function. The Physical Therapist Assistant maintains accurate documentation, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and ensures delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with organizational standards.
Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required. Experience providing direct patient care in a clinical or rehabilitative setting is preferred. Demonstrated ability to independently assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions.
Associate of Science (A.S.) or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required. One (1) year of experience in an outpatient rehabilitation, physical therapy, or healthcare setting is preferred. New graduates with appropriate clinical training and licensure are encouraged to apply. Must demonstrate the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining professional standards and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Must be at least 18 years old.
Current and valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the State of California is required and must be maintained throughout employment. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent provider is required or must be obtained within a timeframe established by SIHC. A valid driver’s license is required and must be maintained throughout employment. Applicants must be able to travel throughout the organization’s service area including all SIHC site locations. Current certifications and/or licenses are appropriate to the positions required education and profession.

Normal clinic/office environment. Sit or stand for long periods of time. Reach, bend, climb, stoop, lift up to 25 lbs. repetitive hand movement; use and view PC. Reliable transportation and car insurance as required by the state. Travel as needed.
