General Description:

Under minimal direction, perform various therapeutic physical therapy treatments according to the physician's direction.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities listed here are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without accommodation may result in disqualification.

  • Interpret physician orders, evaluate patients, and formulate treatment plans to achieve short- and long-term goals.
  • Assess patient responses to treatment and modify plans accordingly.
  • Participate in discharge planning; instruct patients in home programs.
  • Document treatment results and patient responses in medical records.
  • Supervise and assist students during clinical rotations, depending on experience.
  • Maintain and clean departmental equipment.

General Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy.

Experience: 0-3 years.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Current license from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Physical Therapist or eligibility to sit for the exam; must obtain license within six months of hire. Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of physical therapy principles, methods, practices, techniques, equipment, and procedures. Understanding of anatomy and physiology for patient evaluation and treatment. Ability to adjust equipment to patient needs. Effective communication skills and ability to build working relationships. Proficiency in computer use.
