Are you a seasoned Physical Therapist with a passion for helping others? Are you looking for a new and rewarding role where you can make a significant impact? We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Physical Therapist to join our dynamic Acute Care team in an oncology setting. This is a full-time position, requiring you to work with 6 to 10 patients per day. You will be working with a team of OTs, PTs, and SLPs in a high-energy environment where your expertise will be put to good use in helping patients recover and regain their strength and mobility.

Responsibilities

As a Permanent Physical Therapist in our Acute Care team, you will

• Evaluate patients' physical conditions and needs, developing personalized treatment plans to help them recover from injuries, surgeries, illnesses, or manage chronic conditions.
• Apply a variety of therapeutic techniques such as heat, cold, massage, electrical stimulation, therapeutic exercises, and functional training.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
• Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and communicating with patients and their families about their progress and any changes in their treatment.
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions and teach them exercises and techniques to help manage their conditions at home.
• Work closely with oncology patients, helping them to manage the physical challenges associated with their treatment and recovery.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in physical therapy and participate in professional development activities.
  
  

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current and valid PT licensure in the state of practice.
• Experience working with oncology patients is highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• The physical stamina to work on your feet for most of the day and to lift or move patients as necessary.
• A commitment to patient-centered care and to maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.
