Location: Hamilton, NJ - Address: Princeton Medicine- Hamilton- 1315 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd

Hours: Day shift hours/ FT/ Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 8 am - 4:30 pm/ Tuesdays and Thursdays - 11 am - 7:30 pm

Summary:

  • The Acute Rehab Physical Therapists are responsible for assisting persons with medical and functional disabilities attain and restore maximum function through a patient-centered care approach. The physical therapist helps persons achieve treatment plans and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises, instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities, and in using assistive devices like crutches, canes, and prostheses. The physical therapist collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the desired outcomes in the individualized care plan, making revisions based on patient response. The therapist aids in implementing evidence-based rehabilitation strategies while ensuring respectful and dignified treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional physical therapy services
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards, protecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights
  • Evaluate own practice against standards and regulations
  • Provide health education tailored to patient needs, including lifestyle, risk reduction, and self-care
  • Design and instruct home exercise programs, recommend assistive devices, and coordinate follow-up care
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing education to maintain competence
  • Meet patients' physical, psychological, and social needs across different growth and development levels
  • Accept other duties and projects as assigned

Credentials:

  • Physical Therapist (Required)
  • Licensed in NJ as a Physical Therapist (Required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Master of Arts or Science in Physical Therapy (Required)
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Physical Therapist (Preferred)
