Summary:

The NICU Physical Therapist evaluates and provides direct patient care for babies in the NICU with disorders such as neurological, musculoskeletal, genetic, neuromuscular, respiratory, pain, developmental issues, traumatic injuries, burn/wound management, and those at risk for developmental delay due to prematurity. Responsibilities include consultation, programming, patient and caregiver education, overseeing developmental care, staff and family training, referrals, documentation, participation in NICU rounds, facilitating the Developmental Care Committee, and billing. The therapist will work in a team-oriented environment, emphasizing good customer relations, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.

Certification / Licensure:

  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
  • State license or licensure eligibility for Physical Therapy.
