Location To Be Determined

To provide physical therapy to students with educational disabilities as approved by the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP) Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE

1. Serves as an itinerant therapist to students with a documented educational disability and as a consultant to teachers, parents, administrators and others as appropriate.
2. Attends IEP/IFSP team meetings as appropriate.
3. Administers physical therapy assessments and evaluations as approved by the team.
4. Interprets test results and writes assessment reports.
5. Participates in the development of IEP/IFSPs.
6. Provides physical therapy services to students with an approved IEP/IFSP.
7. Provides consultative services and collaborates with parents, teachers, school staff, administrators, transportation staff, and others as appropriate.
8. Applies and/or modifies adaptive techniques (such as but not limited to; aids for locomotion, seating and positioning technologies and orthoses to support student safe access to their educational environment).
9. Consults with physicians and outside agencies; shares information with teachers, administrators, and school health staff as appropriate.
10. Maintains accurate records and completes required special education forms.
11. Provides training to school-based staff.
12. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Hold or be eligible for a Maryland license as a physical therapist from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH). Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
