Job summary

National HealthCare Corporation's NHC HomeCare Midlands is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team. The PT supervises and participates in applying physical therapy techniques for rehabilitation of patients with disabilities, injuries or diseases.

The role coordinates and supervises services, provides PT care as ordered by the physician, and mentors licensed therapists and assistants. It emphasizes evaluation, planning and periodic re-evaluations to set short- and long-term goals.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in physical therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• License or registration to practice in the state.
• One year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Active PT association member preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise physical therapy services.
• Provide PT services as ordered by the referring physician and delegate portions of the treatment program to the licensed physical therapy assistant.
• Instruct the physical therapy staff in their delegated functions including precautions, special problems, contraindications, anticipated progress goals and plan for re-evaluation.
• Evaluates, plans and supervises treatments and programs including the establishment of short-term and long-term goals for patients as approved by the physician with periodic re-evaluations.

• Active member of the state and national Physical Therapy Association preferred.
