Job summary

McKenzie Health in Watford City, ND is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to evaluate, plan, direct and administer physical therapy as prescribed by a physician. You will restore function and prevent disability through evidence-based modalities and patient education.

This full-time, day-shift role requires collaboration with a care team, strong communication, and documentation in EPIC. You will guide exercises, monitor progress, ensure safety, and support ongoing learning through offered

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited college with a Master’s in Physical Therapy.
  • Three or more years of PT experience; new grads welcome.
  • EPIC EHR knowledge preferred.

Position Overview

As a Physical Therapist at McKenzie Health, you will be responsible for evaluation, planning, directing, and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician.You will administer treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner.
  • Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercises.
  • Identify patient’s needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy to individual differences.
  • Recommend options, courses of action or modifications in selected treatments ensuring patient’s progress, safety and comfort.
  • Complete documentation to support the delivery of physical therapy services.
  • Measure performance and report on patient’s medical record
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards.
  • Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge activities.
  • Excellent knowledge of physiology best practices and standards
  • Hands on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training, and physical modalities - spine experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and instruct effectively.
  • Health care administration and documentation skills
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Physically demanding, high-stress environment
  • Sitting for extensive periods of time
  • Ability to lift, move, push or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the public.

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages are preferred.
  • Proficient computing skills, specifically healthcare related billing platforms, and MS Office Products.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to travel between outlying clinics (Williston, ND) and hospital.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Education and Experience
  • Graduate of accredited college or university with a certificate in Physical Therapy with a Master’s.
  • Three (3) or more years of previous experience in all aspects of physical therapy preferred. New Grads Welcome
  • Previous EHR (EPIC0 knowledge experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current State Physical Therapy Licensure
  • Current BLS certification.
