Job description

Boyer Children's Clinic is currently seeking a Full-Time Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy to children with neuromuscular disorders and atypical or delayed development. Boyer Children's Clinic provides medical, therapy, special education and family services to infants and young children with developmental delays, and their families. Physical Therapists work with staff in all departments. They provide therapy support to a wide variety of children and their families, including children with neuromuscular disorders and developmental delays. Physical Therapists work collaboratively to support caregivers in learning strategies to promote development. The right person will be able to work collaboratively and build rapport, while maintaining a focus on our overall mission.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide assessment and physical therapy treatment for children, via telehealth, in client homes, community playgroups, or other community sites.
  • Parent coaching and education in specific activities for positioning and facilitation techniques.
  • Initiate durable medical equipment evaluation with outside agencies, document need and support ongoing use of equipment.
  • Perform case management and other administrative requirements.
  • Provide adequate electronic medical records and documentation (e.g., IFSP) on assessment, progress, and program of each child in accordance with agency policy.
  • Participate in staff conferences, meetings and in-services.
  • Coordination services with other therapy and educational programs. This may mean having contact with involved medical or educational personnel within this facility and outside agencies.
  • Provide training, care coordination, assistance with access, program planning, interagency coordination and administrative functions to support Medicaid programs.
  • Perform training related duties such as supporting in-service training presentations, keeping abreast of developments in the discipline, and collaborating with provider staff on best practices.
Position Requirements

Education, Licenses, Qualifications and/or Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy is required; Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy preferred.
  • Previous experience as a physical therapist working with young children with varying developmental needs is desired.
  • WA State Physical Therapy license is required.
  • N.D.T. training and experience in the handling of children with cerebral palsy and the treatment of neuromuscular and developmental differences is desirable.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification are required.
  • Must possess valid Washington State Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and a reliable means of transportation.

Required Abilities & Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, staff, co-workers, and physicians.
  • Ability to instruct parents and other persons involved in the handling and management of children with varying and/or complex needs.
  • Ability to pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check.

Compensation:

$73,049 - $101,826 annually

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
