Job summary

Entourage Consulting is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to support Human Performance Optimization at Moffett Field, CA. You will provide clinical PT services, injury management, and collaborate with COR and leaders to enhance care and readiness.

You will maintain HIPAA-compliant records, prepare monthly injury/utilization reports, and deliver care within standard operating hours with occasional after-hours work and travel for meetings/trainings as required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain PT notes on treatment and utilization in HIPAA-compliant system; manual records only if system is unavailable.
  • Provide monthly injury report and utilization metrics for unit leadership per HIPAA.
  • Perform injury evaluation, create and coordinate physical therapy treatment plans; assess baseline and track progress.
  • Apply therapies and equipment to reduce pain, improve mobility, and facilitate return to full duty status.
  • Advising unit leadership on injury prevention and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Travel to meetings, conferences, and training as required; may support off-site training.

Education

Physical Therapist

Place of Performance: Moffett Field, CA



General Description

Physical Therapist shall provide services for Human Performance Optimization (HPO) include physical therapy and injury management. Perform all clinical and administrative tasks necessary to provide all services in accordance with this requirement. Ensure a safe and effective operation of all equipment and facilities used for patient care and contribute to a safe working environment, including keeping the HPO spaces clean and organized. Collaborate with the Government COR throughout the duration of this requirement to enhance the quality of patient care delivered. May be required to conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to ensure that HPO Services stay current with the provision of care.


You will be required to participate in periodic meetings to review the care provided to unit personnel and identify opportunities for improvement. Serve as an advisor to the COR, Command Teams, Flight, and Element leadership in matters related to injury prevention, sports medicine, rehabilitation, physical training enhancement, and integration into unit training; provide input for the development and utilization of the HPO data collection strategies and reporting and workload data.


Serve as an advisor to the unit COR and Command Teams for administrative matters, purchasing of supplies and equipment, supplemental fiscal requests, and fiscal plans.


Shall provide support in between the hours of 0600 to 1800 Monday through Friday, as well as scheduled during Unit Training Assembly weekends.


May occasionally be required to support training outside of normal business hours.


Also occasionally, you may be asked to perform an evaluation as soon as is reasonable after an injury, which may fall outside of normal hours.



Specific Tasks


  • History of Treatment: Shall maintain appropriate professional PT notes on treatment and utilization using the government provided software tracking system to provide appropriate history for all participating military personnel. If there is a break or interruption in the government provided software service, manual records will be kept in a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant manner until service can be restored and transcription completed.

  • Injury, Utilization, and Equipment Reporting: Shall provide a monthly report that provides the unit Command Teams with an injury report that identifies individual operator injuries and rehabilitation strategies, in accordance with HIPAA requirements. The Contractor shall also provide reporting that demonstrates utilization of all HPO Services, and the status of all Government Furnished Material that identifies mission capability. Additional metrics and analysis may be added to the report at the discretion of unit leadership.

  • Shall be responsible overall for injury management and physical therapy treatment. You will be responsible for injury evaluation and generating physical therapy treatment plans. Coordinate formal treatment plans with individual members, unit SMEs, and squadron/flight leadership as appropriate to ensure compliance. As able, you shall perform an initial physical assessment of all personnel in order to determine a baseline. In addition to individual injury evaluation, management, treatment, and documentation, you will collect, analyze, and present metrics related to unit utilization and injury trends. This trend information will be stripped of personal information and be presented to the unit on a regular basis with the intent identifying trends in the unit and opportunities to optimize utilization, maintenance, and performance. You will employ exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to help patients decrease pain, increase mobility, prevent further pain or injury, and facilitate return to complete duty status. You shall apply equipment and braces to help prevent and treat injuries; including the use of techniques within the RMT scope of practice and provide guidance to help prevent injury and to maximize the operators' physical conditioning and performance. You may utilize therapeutic taping, instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization, muscle energy or proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) techniques. You shall serve as an advisor to the unit COR and unit leadership in matters related to injury prevention, mobility, sports medicine, performance maintenance, recovery, and rehabilitation.

  • May be required to travel to attend meetings, conferences, and training.

  • May be required to travel to off-site training locations and to ship training aids.



Qualifications


  • Shall possess a Master's or Doctorate degree in physical therapy from an accredited college or university.

  • Shall have a CA State Physical Therapy License.

  • A board certification through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) as either an Orthopedic or Sports Clinical Specialist (O/SCS) is preferred.

  • Current Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certification is preferred.

  • Shall have a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Must have experience working with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) protected information.

  • Experience charting individual evaluations and treatments in a HIPAA compliant system, and will be able to aggregate, analyze, and present unit status and trends in a HIPAA compliant manner for reporting.

  • Shall have at least 3 years of work experience with AFSPECWAR units, operational units within the US SOF community, National Collegiate Athletic Association, Olympic-level athletes, or professional sports teams.
