APEX Performance Wellness & Rehab in Tigard, OR is seeking a Sports Physical Therapist (DPT) to join our on-site rehab team. This full-time role serves athletes and active adults with orthopedic and performance-focused care, using advanced testing and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is required.
• Oregon PT license or eligibility with licensure reimbursement.
• Sports/athletic background or experience in coaching/training.
• Comfort coaching movement in a weight room.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of athletes and active adults, mainly orthopedic and sports rehab.
• Own the full arc of care from injury through return-to-sport clearance.
• Use force plate and strength data to defend discharge decisions.
• Collaborate with performance coaches on rehab-to-training handoffs.
• Contribute to sports science protocols and youth testing.
• Participate in community sessions and athlete education.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sports Physical Therapist (DPT) | Full-Time | Tigard, OR

APEX PWR is hiring a full-time sports physical therapist to join our rehab team in Tigard, just off Highway 217 on SW Greenburg Road, serving athletes and active adults across the Portland metro including Beaverton and Southwest Portland.

Both experienced physical therapists and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Some of our strongest hires have come in straight out of school with an athletic background and a willingness to learn. We help build the rest.

Physical therapy, strength and conditioning, sports science testing, endurance coaching, nutrition, and physician-led wellness care all operate under one roof, across 10,000 square feet.

That means the athlete you discharge does not disappear into a gym you have never seen. They walk fifty feet to a performance coach you eat lunch with, on a plan you helped write.

The Technology and Tools You'll Have

You will not be guessing at readiness. Our testing infrastructure is the kind most outpatient clinics do not have access to:

• VALD ForceDecks for bilateral force plate testing, jump asymmetry, and RSI
• VALD ForceFrame for isometric strength and limb symmetry testing
• VALD DynaMo for handheld dynamometry and range of motion
• Speed gates for sprint and change-of-direction assessment
• DEXA Scan body composition and bone density scanning (we have run these since 2016)
• VO2 Max, RMR, and lactate testing
• A full performance floor: platforms, racks, turf, sleds, and recovery space

What You'll Do

• Carry a caseload of athletes and active adults, primarily orthopedic and sports rehab
• Own the full arc of care, from acute injury through objective return-to-sport clearance
• Use force plate and strength testing data to build and defend your discharge decisions
• Collaborate directly with our performance coaches on the handoff from rehab into training
• Contribute to our sports science assessment protocols and youth athlete testing
• Participate in community work: local high school team recovery sessions, workshops, and athlete education

Who We're Looking For

Required:

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree
• Oregon PT license, or license-eligible (we reimburse licensure costs, including for out-of-state candidates seeking Oregon licensure)
• A sports or athletic background, whether that is playing, coaching, or training
• Comfort and confidence coaching movement in a weight room setting

Preferred, and coachable if you don't have it yet:

• Experience with knee (ACL, patellofemoral, meniscus) and upper extremity (shoulder, elbow) return-to-sport rehab
• CSCS, SCS, OCS, residency or work toward one
• Familiarity with force plate testing or objective performance assessment
• Experience with youth and high school athletes

Compensation and Benefits

• $85,000 – $105,000 per year, depending on experience and credentials

Relocating from outside the Portland area? We are open to discussing relocation support for the right candidate. It is handled case by case rather than as a standard part of the package, so raise it early and we will have an honest conversation about it.

Caseload is primarily in-network insurance with a portion of cash-pay performance and rehab work.
