Overview:

Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve functional mobility, relieve pain, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. Provide age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers. Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by team members.

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy
• Masters Degree in Physical Therapy
• Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy

Certification/Licensure:

• Physical Therapy License (Required)

Experience:

• Perform modalities/therapeutic interventions by accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures.
• Provide effective instruction to patients and families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.
• Initiate, develop, and maintain collaborative interactions with team members, patients, and families to improve patient outcomes.
• Select and perform appropriate assessment procedures.
• Establish and update formal plans of care to address individual patient needs.
• Participate in at least 2-3 professional activities to promote employees' clinical specialty and further Sentara's mission.
• Be productive and efficient in daily operations.
