Job summary

Florida Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for outpatient orthopaedic therapy across the Tampa Bay area. You will evaluate and treat patients recovering from injuries or surgeries, and guide rehabilitation to restore function and mobility.

The role emphasizes patient education, evidence-based treatments, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. Active FL PT license and CPR are required, with DPT preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred).
  • Active Florida PT license.
  • Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations and develop treatment plans.
  • Deliver therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities, and evidence-based treatments.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, rehab process, and home programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, PTAs, athletic trainers, and care teams.
  • Document progress notes, plans, and discharge summaries.

What You’ll Do

As a Physical Therapist, you’ll play a critical role in outpatient orthopaedic therapy, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and sports medicine care. You’ll evaluate, treat, and guide patients through recovery from injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions helping them restore function and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Conducting thorough patient evaluations, assessments, and treatment planning
  • Developing, implementing, and modifying individualized plans of care
  • Providing therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities, and other evidence-based treatments
  • Educating patients and families on diagnosis, rehab process, and home exercise programs
  • Collaborating with physicians, PTAs, athletic trainers, and the broader care team
  • Documenting all evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
  • Monitoring and ensuring patient safety during all treatments
  • Supervising and delegating responsibilities to PTAs and therapy support staff
  • Acting as a clinical instructor for PT students as requested
  • Participating in community education, research, and continuous learning opportunities
  • Maintaining compliance with state, federal, and APTA guidelines and FOI policies
About You

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)
  • Active Florida PT license
  • Current CPR certification

  • Compassionate, innovative, and passionate about improving patient outcomes
Preferred Experience (a Plus, Not Required)
  • Outpatient orthopaedics or sports medicine therapy experience
  • Familiarity with WebPT or other EMR systems
  • Experience as a clinical instructor or mentor
