Job summary

Renown Health in Reno, NV seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive PT services to pediatric through geriatric patients across the health system, under supervision of the Therapy Supervisor and Rehabilitation Therapies Director.

Responsibilities include evaluations, plan of care development, gait and transfer training, wound care, and potential program development with accountability for supervising staff. Ability to float among facilities as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Applicants with physical disabilities experience, specialty certification or experience in one or more specialty areas is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Physical Therapy license. Provisional License acceptable until State of Nevada Physical Therapy license is issued.
• Home Health- 205351 - Valid State of Nevada or California driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicles Report criteria and current automobile insurance for department.
• BLS/CPR certification per AHA standards required.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Position Purpose

This position is accountable for providing quality Physical Therapy services under the supervision of the Therapy Supervisor, Manager and, ultimately, the Director of Rehabilitation Therapies. This individual provides comprehensive physical therapy services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in therapy settings across the health system, including their families/caregivers. Services include, but are not limited to, comprehensive evaluation and treatment of gait and transfer limitations, orthotic/prosthetic training and comprehensive wound care.

This position is accountable for providing quality Physical Therapy services under the supervision of the Therapy Supervisor, Manager and, ultimately, the Director of Rehabilitation Therapies. This individual provides comprehensive physical therapy services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in therapy settings across the health system, including their families/caregivers. Services include, but are not limited to, comprehensive evaluation and treatment of gait and transfer limitations, orthotic/prosthetic training and comprehensive wound care.

Nature and Scope

The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in all therapy settings. This position conducts evaluations, develops appropriate plan of care, and provides rehabilitation services through time of discharge from the facility. This position is responsible for the direct clinical supervision of staff physical therapy assistants and rehab technicians.

Therapist is expected to provide services interchangeably among "like facilities." For example, acute care staff may float between inpatient hospital settings, while post-acute staff may provide services within various post-acute facility settings based upon census and business needs.

At times, this position may be asked to participate in program development and outcome measurements in the clinical setting.

Per diem staff is required to work at least 1 major and 1 minor holiday each year. Major holidays are defined as Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Minor holidays are defined as New Years Eve, New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. If an area is closed on major holidays, the requirement is to work at least 1 day the week of the holiday period.

This position does provide patient care.

Education
