Job summary

LMR Technical Group is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This on-site role supports the 125th Special Tactics Squadron Human Performance Program, delivering evaluation, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization for tactical operators.

The ideal candidate holds an Oregon PT license, BLS/CPR/AED, and can obtain SECRET clearance. Telework is not allowed; you will work within a collaborative, DoD-focused environment with strict security

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an appropriately accredited physical therapy program.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in Oregon, or ability to obtain required Oregon licensure before beginning performance.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR/AED certification appropriate to clinical practice.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance and meet installation/CAC eligibility requirements.

Job Description:

LMR is seeking qualified professionals to support the 125th Special Tactics Squadron (125 STS) Human Performance Program in Portland, Oregon. The program provides an integrated approach to injury prevention, rehabilitation, human performance optimization, consultation, assessment, and reporting for Air Force Special Warfare operators. The mission is to improve readiness, reduce injury and lost duty time, and sustain operator performance.

The Physical Therapist will provide evaluation, injury prevention, rehabilitation, pre-habilitation, and performance optimization services to tactical athletes assigned to the 125 STS.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate neuromusculoskeletal conditions and functional limitations and develop evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation plans within the scope of physical therapy practice.
  • Provide rehabilitation and return-to-duty support designed to restore operators to full mission capability.
  • Develop and maintain rehabilitation and pre-habilitation protocols used by the Human Performance Program.
  • Identify injury trends and risk factors and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on injury-mitigation strategies.
  • Make appropriate referrals to external medical providers when services exceed the program's scope and support required referral documentation.
  • Work as part of an integrated Human Performance Program supporting Air Force Special Warfare operators.
  • Conduct and document discipline-appropriate operator assessments and contribute to individualized performance, rehabilitation, or care plans.
  • Coordinate with other Human Performance Program staff and Government medical personnel to support integrated operator care and return-to-duty objectives.
  • Document individual service encounters and provide required program data in accordance with contract timelines and Government procedures.
  • Participate in weekly care coordination meetings and monthly program status meetings, as required.
  • Support initial and annual follow-up physical and mental performance assessments and provide individual feedback within the scope of the position.
  • Contribute to program reporting, assessment analysis, protocol development, and continuous program improvement.
  • Protect personally identifiable and health-related information and comply with applicable DoD, Air Force, installation, safety, security, and information-protection requirements.
  • Maintain Government-furnished equipment and work areas within the employee's assigned scope and promptly identify equipment or safety concerns.
  • Adjust work schedules as required to support quarterly Regularly Scheduled Drills (RSDs), annual training, and mission requirements.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an appropriately accredited physical therapy program.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in Oregon, or ability to obtain required Oregon licensure before beginning performance.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR/AED certification appropriate to clinical practice.
  • Ability to provide documentation of degrees, licenses, credentials, and board certifications for Government review.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance and meet installation/CAC eligibility requirements. U.S. Citizenship is required for a SECRET clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site in Portland, Oregon. Telework is not authorized.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Special Operations Forces, military tactical athletes, collegiate/professional athletes, or other high-performance populations.
  • Board certification in orthopedics or sports physical therapy (OCS/SCS).
  • Experience with manual therapy, return-to-sport/return-to-duty programming, injury surveillance, and performance testing.
  • Experience working on an interdisciplinary human performance or POTFF-style team.
Contract / Work Environment
  • Performance is at the 125 STS facility in Portland, Oregon; telework is not authorized.
  • Normal services are generally Monday through Friday, 0700-1600, with schedule adjustments for quarterly RSDs, annual training, and mission requirements.
  • Personnel may be required to support domestic response crises, including on-call response requirements established by the contract.
  • All personnel must comply with installation access, security, OPSEC, cybersecurity, privacy, and required annual training requirements.

Expected Salary Range:

$108,000 - $125,000 annually. Salary will be based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, training, certifications and work location.
