Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) for a full‑time, in‑person leave coverage position in the Mason, MI area. The assignment runs 8–10 weeks, with services to students across multiple school districts.

The PT will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, collaborate with teachers and staff, and support student mobility and participation within the school setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed PT in Illinois (current).
• Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy.
• Pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between school sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT services to students across multiple school sites.

Job description

Job Position: Physical Therapist Location: Mason, MI 48854 Pay Rate: $45.00/hr Description: Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) for a full-time (35 hours per week), in-person leave coverage position in the Mason, MI area. This temporary opportunity is ideal for a therapist who enjoys working in school-based settings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support student success. The Physical Therapist will provide services to students across multiple school districts, managing a combination of direct therapy and consultative services.

This assignment is expected to last approximately 8-10 weeks and will provide coverage during a staff member's medical leave. The anticipated start date is within the coming weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Provide physical therapy services to students across multiple school sites throughout the week.
• Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine students' physical and mobility needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, special education staff, and other related service providers.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements.
• Provide recommendations regarding mobility equipment, positioning, accessibility, and participation within the school environment.

Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Physical Therapist license.
• Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between school sites throughout the week.
