Job summary

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky PT license or eligible to obtain licensure.
• Experience or strong interest in aquatic therapy and pool safety.
• Clinical skills in musculoskeletal/orthopedic rehab: evaluation, manual therapy, exercise prescription.
• Ability to develop and adjust individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team; patient safety.
• Capable of documentation in EHR and time-management.

Role Description

The Aquatic Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized aquatic therapy programs for patients in an on-site clinical setting in Louisville, KY. This role includes conducting comprehensive assessments, designing treatment plans that utilize water-based interventions, and monitoring patient progress to achieve functional, mobility, and pain management goals. The Aquatic Physical Therapist collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, documents all services in accordance with regulatory and company standards, and educates patients and caregivers on exercise programs and safety in and out of the pool. The role also involves maintaining aquatic equipment and treatment areas, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to evidence-based practice within the clinic.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist (PT or DPT) license in the state of Kentucky, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in aquatic therapy, including safe handling and supervision of patients in a pool environment.
• Solid clinical skills in musculoskeletal and orthopedic rehabilitation, including evaluation, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise prescription.
• Ability to develop and adjust individualized treatment plans, set measurable goals, and use evidence-based interventions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary care team.
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and adherence to all regulatory and ethical standards in clinical practice.
• Capacity to manage time effectively, prioritize caseloads, and maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records.
• Willingness to engage in continuing education, mentorship, and professional development; prior experience in outpatient or rehabilitation settings is a plus.
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification and comfort working in a physically active, aquatic environment.
