Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapy license in Virginia.
• Experience evaluating and treating patients with various acute and chronic orthopedic dysfunctions.
• Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge from an accredited program to patient care.
• Uses evaluative tools to assess needs and progress toward goals.
• May design and fabricate adaptive equipment and instruct clients in its use.
• Selects and implements appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Collaborates with physicians, psychologists, social workers, other therapists, and health care professionals.
• Documents activities and progress; informs plans of care and discharge planning.
• Supervisory/mentoring responsibilities may be required on occasion.

Job description

Provide physical therapy services to patient inmates. Services include outpatient orthopedics as well as Skilled Nursing/Rehabilitation/Acute care. Provide physical therapy evaluations, progress notes, updated plans of care, and discharges. Collaborate with other Physical Therapy (PT) clinic team members and medical staff to improve patient care. Assist in Physical Therapy Quality Improvement Measures and Data Collections. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.

Pay Rate

$60 / hour

Requirements

• Inpatient/Outpatient rehab Experience (Preferred)
• Graduate from accredited Physical therapy Program
• Current Physical Therapy license in Virginia
• Experience evaluating and treating patients with various acute and chronic orthopedic dysfunctional
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to play an active role collaborating with other medical professionals to provide optimum care

• Works as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Some positions require knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
• May instruct other clinical professionals in areas of expertise in assessment and treatment techniques.
• Daily living and work skills as well as overall fitness and health are developed, recovered, or promoted.
• Clients progress toward identified goals for independent, productive, and satisfying lives.
• Plans and implements programs.
• Documents activities and progress, modifying therapeutic interventions when necessary.
• Documentation affects reimbursement to the organization.
• Some positions lead or supervise professionals and paraprofessionals or may take a team leadership/mentoring position in specific areas of expertise.
