Job summary

Sunny Days Early Childhood Developmental Services Inc. is seeking a licensed Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our California team. This home-based role serves infants and toddlers with developmental needs and offers flexible schedules, mileage reimbursement, and benefits.

Work in clients’ homes and in community settings, using the Parent Coaching Model to empower families and reach developmental goals. Candidates must hold a CA DPT with pediatric experience.

Qualifications

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license is required.
• Pediatric experience preferred; Early Intervention experience desired.
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Spanish language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide physical therapy using the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon).
• Follow each child’s IFSP and work with families to develop goals.
• Utilize family-centered parent coaching to build caregiver confidence and generalize progress.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment (homes, daycare centers, community settings).
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports bi-annually.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal regulations.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)

• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
