The Seasonal Physical Therapist is responsible for implementing physician-ordered physical therapy services to help patients achieve an independent and safe lifestyle. This role requires working within an interdisciplinary team and providing age-appropriate care to pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients, using a solid understanding of growth and development principles.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing patient evaluations using functional tests and interpreting results to establish a therapy diagnosis and plan of care.
• Setting appropriate short-term, long-term, and personal/family goals based on patient condition, limitations, and social factors.
• Demonstrating clinical judgment and critical thinking in treatment planning.
• Ensuring secure and accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Utilizing physical agent modalities (e.g., moist heat) as appropriate to treatment areas.
• Understanding musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems as related to therapy.
• Identifying learning needs of patients and families and addressing them effectively.
• Physically managing equipment and patient movement safely.
• Collaborating with healthcare team members throughout the patient’s care journey.

*Note: Additional duties may be assigned as needed.*

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Proof of 2 hours of recent (within 4 months) continuing education focused on CVA.

Work Experience:

Must meet **one** of the following as a Licensed Physical Therapist:

• 1 year of full-time acute care experience, or
• 2 years in a skilled nursing or inpatient rehab facility, or
• 2 years of part-time acute care experience.

Certification/Licensure: Must hold a valid Physical Therapist license from the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy.

Schedule Notes: 8a-4:30 some weekends (Hours Per Week: 40.00)
