Overview:

Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve functional mobility, relieve pain, and correct disabling conditions caused by disease or injury. Provide age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers. Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by designated team members.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy

Certification/Licensure:

  • Physical Therapy License (Required)

Experience:

  • Perform modalities/therapeutic interventions according to accepted standards of care and department policies.
  • Provide effective instruction to patients and families via standardized educational programs and individualized training.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and families to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Select and perform appropriate assessment procedures.
  • Establish and update formal care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Participate in at least 2-3 professional activities to promote clinical specialty and support Sentara's mission.
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency in daily operations.
