Job summary

The Bone & Joint Center in Dickinson, ND seeks a licensed Orthopaedic / Sports Medicine Physical Therapist for full-time or part-time outpatient care. The role offers a competitive hourly salary and comprehensive benefits.

You will evaluate and treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions, manage a patient caseload, document in the EMR, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a skilled orthopedic team. Ongoing CEU support is provided.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
  • Current North Dakota Physical Therapy license.
  • Physiological knowledge and PT principles.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Documentation skills and EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, test, and assess orthopaedic patients.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver physical therapy treatment.
  • Manage a patient caseload and maintain thorough charting.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and staff; provide education.
  • Assist in department operations and participate in professional development.

Interventions to include range of motion, manual therapy, modalities, neuromuscular reeducation, therapeutic exercise and activities.Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining updating, and studying therapy histories.Documents patient care services by charting patient and department records using the electronic Medical Records system.Knowledge of and utilization of appropriate age-related treatments and evaluations related to the needs of patients in order to help patients recover and improve their functional limitations in movement and mobility, relieve pain, increase strength and prevent disabilities.Demonstrate and incorporate knowledge of current research into daily treatment of patients.Maintains patient records confidentiallyCollaborates with the entire Bone & Joint Center team and provides professional recommendations regarding patient care.May be asked to supervise assistants, aides and students as they provide patient care, treatment or other services.Expected to attend ongoing education and provide training to peers in the area of expertise as determined by the Department Supervisor.Participation in protocol development and assisting in the Orthopedic Update Conference, hosted by The Bone & Joint Center.Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as therapeutic exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as assistive devices, orthotics, and prostheses.Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, and when appropriate, supervises family/significant others in implementing best practices for patients’ conditionGraduate from an accredited Physical Therapy ProgramCurrent North Dakota Physical Therapy licensePhysiological knowledgeThorough knowledge of physical therapy principles and practicesStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsDocumentation skillsListening and verbal communication
