Responsibilities

  • Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Evaluate patients on initial encounter to assess impairment and rehabilitation potential.
  • Plan physical therapy treatment program for each patient based on the assessment.
  • Apply diagnostic nerve, joint, and muscle functional tests.
  • Direct and aid patient in therapeutic regimen; supervise aides and staff as appropriate.
  • Adapt conventional physical therapy techniques to fit patient needs.
  • Train medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.
  • Evaluate and report on patient progress to the rehab team; communicate with physicians.
  • Counsel patient and family about disability and impairment.
  • Complete all required documentation thoroughly and timely.
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain licensure.
  • Assist with departmental maintenance and supplies.
  • Supervise patient care activities of aides, assistants, attendants, students, and volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Reports to: Director of Provider Services

FLSA Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt $41.00-63.00

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Evaluate patients upon initial encounter to assess impairment and current condition to estimate rehabilitation potential.
  • Plan physical therapy treatment program for each patient, based on the assessment.
  • Apply diagnostic and progressive nerve, joint, and muscle functional ability tests.
  • Direct and aid patient in therapeutic regimen. Delegate routine care to supportive personnel as appropriate. Act in supervisory role to ensure proper execution of tasks.
  • Adapt conventional physical therapy techniques to fit the needs of patients in a variety of circumstances.
  • Conduct and participate in training medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.
  • Evaluate, record, and report on patient progres for review by other members of the rehabilitative team. Communicate effectively with physicians and other members of the rehabilitation team.
  • Counsel patient and family about degree of disability impairment.
  • Complete all required documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. Participate in continuing education programs to ensure appropriate units are attained for continuation and maintenance of state license.
  • Assists with departmental maintenance and supplies.
  • Supervises the patient care activities of aides, assistants, attendants, students, and volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned/ requested.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy preferred.
  • Current, unencumbered Colorado license required.
  • Previous experience working as a physical therapist preferred.
