Job summary

Orthopedic Centers of Colorado is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to assess and treat patients, develop and monitor individualized treatment plans, and educate patients and families. The role includes supervising assistants and coordinating care within established laws and standards.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, care planning with patient/family involvement, discharge planning, and ensuring safety with BLS-certified practice.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience preferred.
• Physical Therapy License required by the state.
• Graduated from a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association required.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

• Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
• Established a plan of care which is appropriate to problems in identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment settings. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervises and delegates the care provided by physical therapy assistants according to established licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Frequent standing, typing, moussing, and reading paper and electronic documents
• Ability to file and track documents and data, both in written and electronic form
• Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• On occasion, some early, late and overtime hours may be required
