Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Physical Therapist (musculoskeletal) at the Hyde Park campus.

In this role, the Physical Therapist performs advanced/specialized physical therapy services/procedures and consultations, primarily in area of advanced clinical competency and/or specialty certification.

ELIGIBLE FOR A 1,500 SIGN ON BONUS!

Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluates patients utilizing the advanced/specialized test and measurements; to determine the physical therapy problem/level of function and the expected discharge environment.
  • Promotes and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical, psychosocial and developmental needs of adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Establishes a treatment plan based upon the evaluation findings; and the patient/family, the referring practitioner and therapist's goals.
  • Performs advanced/specialized physical therapy techniques and procedures.
  • Treats patients with complex problems ie. co-morbidities and/or poor previous outcomes; consults on difficult cases for staff and referring practitioners.
  • Documents findings; patient progress; and procedures performed, and time required.
  • Instructs patients/families in home programs.
  • Demonstrates effective time management; achieves designated productivity standard.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors, Master's or DPT degree or verification by the APTA of equivalent training in another country.
  • Current physical therapy license in the State of Illinois.
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
