Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist to provide skilled PT services in patients' homes to promote mobility, restore function, and enhance safety and independence. You will collaborate with patients, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and prevent hospitalizations.

The role requires a CAPTE-accredited degree, current state licensure, CPR certification, and 1+ year of home health PT experience; mentoring options available if needed.

Qualifications

• If less than 1 year, regional clinical leaders must approve and mentoring/residency may be required

As the Physical Therapist (PT) you will be responsible for providing skilled physical therapy services to patients in their homes to promote mobility, restore function, improve strength and balance, and enhance overall safety and independence. The Physical Therapist works collaboratively with patients, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary care team to support recovery, prevent hospitalizations, and improve quality of life within the home setting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Helping patients maintain, restore and improve movement, activity and function
• Provides interventions, conducts reexaminations (every 30 days, at minimum), modifies interventions as necessary, and performs discharge planning
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy educational program as set by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
• Current license to practice physical therapy specific to the state you're assigned to work in
• Current CPR certification
• 1+ related physical therapy experience for PTs entering home health care to ensure that knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide physical therapy services to patients
• If less than 1+ years of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders is required as well as appropriate mentoring and/or participating in a residency program

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $80,864 to $121,296 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
