Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Physical Therapist to help patients maintain, restore and improve movement and function in home health settings. This is a PRN days position with the opportunity to make a difference in patients’ lives at home.

You will assess progress, adjust interventions as needed, perform reexaminations at least every 30 days, and plan discharges while collaborating with families and care teams. Amedisys emphasizes flexibility, growth, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy in the state you're assigned to work in.
• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program.
• One year of related physical therapy experience for home health care entrants or approval required for less than one year.
• If less than one year, regional clinical leaders must approve and provide mentoring or residency participation.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventions, conduct reexaminations (at least every 30 days), modify interventions as needed, and perform discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy specific to the state you're assigned to work in.
• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy educational program as set by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• One year related physical therapy experience for PTs entering home health care to ensure that knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide physical therapy services to patients.
• If less than one year of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders is required as well as appropriate mentoring and/or participating in a residency program.
• Current CPR certification.
