ABOUT THE TEAM

The Classified Physical Security team is responsible for ensuring the security of classified facilities for Anduril’s most sensitive programs and contracts. The team has individuals located across the country working collaboratively to ensure the security of Anduril’s classified facilities and government information. The team provides full lifecycle management and support for the design, oversight and facility accreditation for Anduril’s secure spaces.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Classified Physical Security Specialist to join our growing team in Costa Mesa, California. This is a security position requiring a qualified security professional supporting the expansion of Anduril’s classified facilities to include classified open storage areas, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), and Special Access Program Facilities (SAPFs). The Classified Physical Security Specialist’s primary responsibilities include supporting the Classified Physical Security Managers’ oversight of the design, build, and accreditation of Anduril secure facilities in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 (the “National Information Security Program Operating Manual”), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs 703, 704, 705, and others), and applicable Department of War and military department policies and issuances.

The Physical Security Specialist serves as the technical expert and “on-site eyes” for all secure facility operations, with a primary focus on SCIFs/SAPFs/OSAs. This role ensures the integrity of secure environments, from initial design specifications through ongoing daily operational compliance. The Specialist will be actively involved in build meetings and daily site walkthroughs, reviewing design drawings and assessing added infrastructure scope for active and new builds, while managing relationships with vendors, conducting rigorous site inspections (including bi-annual inspection / testing), and supporting/maintaining accreditation documentation for secure spaces throughout their lifecycle.

The Physical Security Specialist will interface with numerous internal and external organizations to include Anduril program teams and security professionals, government program offices real estate professionals, architects, general contractors, construction personnel, contracted site security managers, guard forces, and other service providers. This will require detailed knowledge of the government policies applicable to secure facility construction, as well as practical experience implementing this knowledge to a fast-paced, quickly scaling, and complex environment that encompasses both traditional office space applications as well as manufacturing facilities. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date status of construction schedules and coordinate security task scheduling with the design and construction team while ensuring that the all stakeholders have full visibility into all relevant design revisions and issues as they arise, and keep track of all longer-term strategic goals.
  • Develop detailed reports on facility status, system issues, and compliance findings and compile them into a tracker that is accessible to various stakeholders.
  • Maintain all security-related records of job status and accreditation status by working with closely with the security construction team and project stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage relationships with Anduril security vendors for the sourcing, procurement and integration of security hardware for new ICD-705 construction efforts and retrofits ensuring compliance with government and Anduril standards.
  • Research and provide input on security-in-depth standards for each build. Verify and maintain security measures on new and existing facilities, and actively participate in build meetings and daily site walkthroughs.
  • Assist with reviewing design drawings for compliance, identifying and flagging any non-compliance issues.
  • Oversee the installation, implementation, and maintenance of Intrusion Detection Systems and Access Control Systems for Anduril secure spaces compliant with UL2050, 32 Part 117, ICD-705, and other government or customer requirements as needed.
  • Conduct SCIF, SAPF, and open storage area inspections during construction walkthroughs, and ensure completion of semiannual alarm testing and site inspections.
  • Immediately resolve specific operational or technical security problems at classified facility construction sites and existing facilities by identifying requirements for specific repairs, parts, or system components.
  • Oversee resolution of security alarm issues and facility incidents, acting as an on-site classified physical security support specialist.
  • Ensure Construction Security Plans are developed properly for each independent build, appropriately disseminated to relevant stakeholders, and ensure they are being followed.
  • Assist with the development and evolution of accreditation documentation, and coordination with onsite construction site security managers for regular submission of build process documentation and evidence.
  • Ensure that lessons-learned are memorialized and incorporated into a secure construction “playbook” for application to future builds.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledgeable in interpreting and implementing security guidance based on applicable ICDs, 32 CFR Part 117 and other policies and regulations, to complex and unique secure facility builds.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines to understand and identify/evaluate program risks and vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigations for physical, visual, acoustic and TEMPEST standards.
  • Experience with the preparation and maintenance of concept request approval memoranda, Fixed Facility Checklists (FFC), Tempest checklists and construction security plans.
  • Thorough understanding of 32 CFR Part 117, ICD-705, and other government security guidance applicable to classified facility construction.
  • Ability build and maintain relationships with government security counterparts and external vendors including construction and general contracting firms, alarm integrators, and other service providers as required
  • Top-notch verbal and written communication skills with a strong collaborative mindset
  • The ability to manage multiple, unrelated tasks while meeting strict deadlines
  • Willingness to conduct on-site construction walk-through inspections and attend onsite customer meetings (Travel approximately 10-15% and some local area travel)
  • Current DoD Top Secret security clearance
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Completion of a formal ICD-705 or Site Security Manager course within the last three (3) years.
  • Experience working physical security projects/planning within both the DoD SCI, SAP and IC community
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and documents
  • Ability to troubleshoot and execute basic repairs of locking mechanisms, and Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Familiarity with Airtable and ability to quickly learn other software tools used to track build information as well as portals used to communicate with external vendors
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
  • Current SCI eligibility

US Salary Range: $112,000 — $149,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
