Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Physical Security Event & Travel Risk Intelligence Manager to lead threat intelligence for company events and executive engagements. You will partner with Travel & Entertainment, Marketing, and Executive Protection to assess risks, develop Emergency Action Plans, and provide real-time intelligence and incident response during high‑profile events.

This 24/7 role requires flexibility for non-traditional hours and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in security studies, criminal justice, international relations, homeland security or related discipline or equivalent military/law enforcement experience
  • Proficiency in protective intelligence, event security planning, risk assessments, executive protection support, crisis management, travel risk management, or geopolitical analysis
  • Proven ability to synthesize large volumes of information into actionable intelligence and concise reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions in fast-paced, ambiguous situations to assess threats and risks in dynamic environments
  • Experience supporting executive protection programs, corporate sponsored events, or other large-scale events
  • Background building and managing physical security programs
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Familiarity with incident response, crisis management, and physical security practices
  • Experience utilizing threat intelligence monitoring tools
  • Strong OSINT monitoring capabilities, threat assessment, travel risk analysis, and the ability to identify and triage emerging threats and produce actionable intelligence products
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills for executive-level communication
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and leaders across many levels of management
  • Working independently in an unstructured environment; developing structure and clarity around the ambiguous by taking a concept and developing ideas/about solutions to achieve progress
  • Navigating through complex collaborative initiatives while aligning
  • Strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, attention to detail, source validation skills, situational awareness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Proven ability developing trusted partnerships in both public & private sectors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intelligence-driven risk assessments for corporate events, sponsored events, and employee gatherings
  • Partner with Event, Marketing and Executive Protection teams to perform due diligence on event locations, environments, and attendee exposure
  • Monitor open-source intelligence (OSINT), social media, and threat intelligence feeds for emerging risks that could impact events
  • Develop and maintain event-specific Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), ensuring alignment with security and crisis management protocols
  • Partner with Executive Protection to provide threat intelligence and situational awareness for CEO and executive exposure during events and engagements
  • Provide real-time monitoring, reporting, and escalation support during live events, including response to active security or life safety incidents
  • Investigate and assess potential threats using multiple data sources and intelligence tools
  • Produce clear, concise intelligence risk products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment on risk posture and response planning
  • Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility to leadership
  • Translate data into insights and recommendations for operational improvement
  • Continuously evolve threat detection, monitoring practices, and reporting standards
  • Drive refinement of monitoring strategies to improve detection accuracy and reduce noise
  • Ensure consistency in decision-making, escalation, and reporting quality

The Opportunity

Ally is seeking a Physical Security Event & Travel Risk Intelligence Manager to join our Physical Security organization to support delivering proactive and real-time intelligence for high-visibility Ally sponsored events and executive engagements. In this role, you will partner closely with Travel & Entertainment, Marketing, Executive Protection, and Physical Security Intelligence teams to assess risk, monitor threats, and ensure the safety of employees and leadership during corporate events. You will be responsible for conducting threat intelligence analysis, supporting event planning through risk assessments, and developing emergency action plans (EAPs) that address employee and executive exposure. This role also plays a critical role in supporting Executive Protection, providing ongoing intelligence and situational awareness for the CEO and other executives during Ally sponsored events, travel, and public-facing activities. This is a 24/7, event-driven role that requires flexibility to support evolving threats and real-time operational needs. Candidates must be willing to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and respond to live security or life safety incidents as they arise. As the Physical Security Event & Travel Risk Intelligence Manager, you will lead intelligence efforts tied to corporate and executive events, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated through proactive planning and real-time support.
