Responsibilities
  • Serve as the physical security design authority for North America projects.
  • Develop, review, and validate physical security design architecture for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, visitor management, perimeter security, secure lobbies, internal security zoning, and related security infrastructure.
  • Translate physical security standards, risk-tier requirements, and project-specific conditions into practical design requirements.
  • Support the development of scalable design models that can be consistently applied across greenfield, expansion, retrofit, and modernization projects.
  • Ensure physical security designs are aligned with site requirements, project requirements, customer expectations, and operational security needs.
  • Identify design gaps, inconsistencies, constructability concerns, and conflicts between security requirements and architectural, civil, electrical, technology, or operational constraints.
  • Provide concise written updates to the Director of Physical Security Design regarding active project status, portfolio health, technical risks, schedule concerns, cost impacts, security risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Support the implementation of risk-based physical security design practices across the North America portfolio.
  • Translate Security Vulnerability and Risk Testing outputs, vulnerability assessment findings, threat considerations, and consequence factors into security design requirements.
  • Support the use of risk-tiered design archetypes, including baseline, enhanced, and hardened design models.
  • Ensure that physical security design requirements are scaled appropriately based on site conditions, operational criticality, vulnerability exposure, and approved design standards.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of risk-informed design guidance, review criteria, checklists, and documentation templates.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of physical security design standards, templates, and technical requirements.
  • Contribute to security-related Division 08, Division 28, Division 32, and related specification requirements.

  • Partner with Design, Construction, Delivery, Technology, Operations, and Security stakeholders to resolve design-related issues.
  • Support RFI responses, design clarifications, submittal reviews, and field coordination related to physical security systems.
  • Support project teams in identifying and resolving security design conflicts before they result in field rework, schedule impacts, or operational risk.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Physical Security Design, Design, Construction, Delivery, Technology, Operations, and Security.
  • Communicate security design intent clearly to architects, engineers, consultants, general contractors, integrators, vendors, and other external partners.
