Job summary

Peraton’s Physical Security team seeks a junior-level Physical Security Analyst to support day-to-day operations across access control, CCTV, and visitor management. You will assist with investigations, asset inventories, and guard coordination while contributing to proposal pricing and cost forecasting for facility buildouts.

You’ll work closely with Facilities, IT, Program Security, and HR teams to ensure compliant, efficient security practices and documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with a relevant Bachelor's degree.
• At least 1 year of experience in physical security, facility security, law enforcement, military security operations, or a closely related role.
• 6+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Working familiarity with access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, visitor management, and guard operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to obtain a secret security clearance and US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Peraton's Physical Security team is responsible for the safety and security of all Peraton facilities across the enterprise. The team delivers this mission through electronic access control systems, closed-circuit television (CCTV) and video management systems, intrusion detection, contracted guard services, visitor management, and ongoing physical security assessments. The team also plays a central role in Peraton's growth activities, forecasting physical security costs associated with new facility buildouts, program captures, and proposal efforts.

We are seeking a Physical Security Analyst to join the team as a junior-level individual contributor. This is a developmental role designed for someone with foundational experience in physical security, facilities, or a related security field who is looking to grow into a well-rounded physical security professional. The analyst will support the team's day-to-day operations as well as its proposal and growth activities, working alongside senior team members on real-world projects from day one.

Responsibilities

Physical Security Operations Support

• Support day-to-day administration of enterprise physical security systems, including access control, CCTV/video management, visitor management, and intrusion detection
• Assist with badge issuance, access provisioning/deprovisioning, and routine access reviews
• Monitor and triage physical security alarms and events; escalation as appropriate
• Support investigations into facility-related security incidents and compile supporting documentation
• Help maintain accurate inventories of physical security equipment, cameras, readers, and related assets

Contracted Guard Force Support

• Help coordinate day-to-day interactions with contracted guard service providers
• Review guard post orders, patrol logs, and incident reports for completeness
• Assist with guard scheduling coordination and documentation of post requirements
• Support site visits and quality checks of guard operations

Proposal and Growth Support (Pricing & Cost Forecasting)

• Support proposal and capture teams by developing physical security cost estimates for new facility buildouts and program expansions
• Research vendor pricing for access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and related physical security equipment
• Help maintain reusable pricing templates, standardized bills of materials, and historical cost data
• Compile physical security sections of proposal narratives under the direction of senior team members
• Participate in site surveys of candidate facilities and document findings

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), site-specific security plans, and system documentation
• Prepare periodic reports on access control activity, incidents, and system health
• Support audits, physical security assessments, and compliance reviews
• Maintain organized project files and documentation for proposal and buildout efforts

Collaboration

• Partner with Facilities, IT, Program Security, and HR teams on cross-functional efforts
• Interact professionally with employees, contractors, and visitors regarding physical security matters
• Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and ongoing training

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Management, Business, or a related field
• At least 1 year of experience in physical security, facility security, law enforcement, military security operations, or a closely related role

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office - particularly Excel (for pricing/cost work), Word, and Outlook

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
• US Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
• Ability to work on-site at Peraton facilities as needed and travel occasionally to other Peraton locations

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with any enterprise access control platform (e.g., Lenel, AMAG, Software House/CURE, Genetec, Avigilon)
• Familiarity with any video management system (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, Salient)
• Experience supporting proposals, pricing, or cost estimates in a government contracting environment
• Exposure to physical security standards - UL 2050, DoD / IC construction standards, ICD 705 fundamentals, or RMF controls (CP, PE families)
• Prior experience interacting with contracted guard services
• Active or prior security clearance (Secret or higher)
• Industry certifications such as PSP (Physical Security Professional), CPP (Certified Protection Professional) - or on a path toward them

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
