Job summary

Somerset Community College invites applications for a Physical Science Instructor. This position teaches 15 credit hours per semester including Physics and at least one other Physical Science subject area—Chemistry, Geology, and/or Astronomy—as part of the MSSE program.

Emphasis will be placed on majors courses, but non-majors may fill out the remaining hours. Beyond teaching, the successful candidate will mentor MSSE students, participate in faculty development, advising, curriculum

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics or related field with at least 18 graduate hours in physics.
• Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Teach 15 credit hours per semester including Physics and at least one other Physical Science subject.
• Mentor MSSE program Pre-engineering and Science discipline students.
• Maintain office hours, advise students, prepare lessons, and participate in curriculum development and assessments.
• Participate in college/department meetings and external service activities.
