The ideal candidate has a BS in Chemistry or related field, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with data integrity and regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine testing using methods such as FTIR, UV-Vis, oxygen permeability, center thickness, temporal sessile drop, tensile properties, pervaporation rate, and refractive index.
• Develop new test methods and perform experimental research in contact lens surface wettability and permeation rates.
• Collaborate with colleagues to research technical claims for marketing of products.
• Maintain electronic and physical lab notebooks and document data per experimental findings.
• Review and analyze data to support product development and quality improvements.

Pay Rate: $24-28.00/hr and up, based on experience
Shift: Monday – Friday | Day Shift
Duration: One year with strong potential to extend

Job Description

Conduct routine testing using methods such as FTIR, UV-Vis, oxygen permeability, center thickness, temporal sessile drop, tensile properties, pervaporation rate, and refractive index. Work on development of new methods and experimental research in areas exploring contact lens surface wettability, as well as rates of permeation and evaporation through a contact lens. Collaborate with colleagues to research technical claims to use in marketing of products. Use electronic and physical lab notebooks for documentation, as well as analyze and review data per experimental findings.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or related field such as Engineering, Forensics or Microscopy. If recent graduate, prefer someone with undergrad research or intern experience.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of data integrity, data quality, and data management principles.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with GxP, GMP, GLP, or regulated environments preferred
