Job summary

Kelly Science and Clinical is seeking a Physical Properties Method Development Scientist to join a Global Medical Device client in Jacksonville, FL for a long-term opportunity. Conduct routine testing and develop methods including FTIR, UV-Vis, oxygen permeability, and surface wettability assessments on contact lens materials.

The role requires BS in Chemistry or related field, strong communication and data management skills, and experience with data integrity.

Qualifications

BS in Chemistry or related field such as Engineering, Forensics or Microscopy.
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of data integrity, data quality, and data management principles.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine testing using methods such as FTIR, UV-Vis, oxygen permeability, center thickness, temporal sessile drop, tensile properties, pervaporation rate, and refractive index.
Work on development of new methods and experimental research in areas exploring contact lens surface wettability, as well as rates of permeation and evaporation through a contact lens.
Collaborate with colleagues to research technical claims to use in marketing of products.
Use electronic and physical lab notebooks for documentation, as well as analyze and review data per experimental findings.
