Cambridge Public School's Health, Physical Education and Wellness Department is dedicated to creating supportive learning spaces where all students are known, celebrated, empowered, and thrive. These experiences will support students to be engaged in exploring, creating, and advocating for meaningful changes at the individual and societal level. The Role :

The Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, in partnership with the Health and Physical Education department, seeks a Physical Education & Wellness Teacher for the 25-26 school year. Wellness Teachers report directly to the Coordinator of Health, Physical Education and Wellness, the department lead teacher and small learning community administrator to which they are assigned. It is the responsibility of all Wellness Teachers to teach Wellness education according to the SHAPE America National PE Standards.

Your Skill Set :

As the incoming Physical Education Teacher,you will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience and/or education in: secondary Health and Physical Education.
• Successful teaching experience in an urban setting is preferred.
• Required Massachusetts Certification in 5-12 Physical Education
• Required Massachusetts Certification in K-12 Health and Family/Consumer Science
• Experience leading instruction in multicultural and urban community settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff and student body.
