Our curriculum model, based on the Educational Plan of St. Jerome, immerses students in the beauty of Western civilization and the Catholic intellectual tradition. We are a parish school and bring students into the sacramental and liturgical life of St. Monica Catholic Church. Our grades 9-12 program was founded as a pilot in 2020 and was accredited in the fall of 2023. The program limits student cohorts to 12-15 members and emphasizes intellectual friendship through Socratic and Harkness seminars.
Ideal CandidateSt. Monica Catholic School is seeking a physical education teacher for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will possess academic training in physical education or another relevant discipline, experience teaching PE or involvement in youth sports, and a passion for helping students of all ability levels enjoy physical activity. St. Monica is interested in both experienced teachers and those with a passion for young people and a willingness to pursue growth in the profession through regular coaching, professional development, and appropriate further study. The administration is committed to supporting both early career and veteran teachers in their vocation.

QualificationsSuccessful applicants will embody St. Monica Catholic School’s commitment to Christian intellectual, spiritual and moral formation in accord with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. They should meet or exceed the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a physical education, kinesiology, sports medicine, human physiology and development, or other field relevant to physical education
- Experience coaching or coordinating youth sports strongly preferred
- Possession of a Washington State teaching credential with PE endorsement or willingness and ability to pursue certification
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form relationships with students, school and parish colleagues, parents, and the larger St. Monica community
- Complete Virtus safe environment training and a background check
Physical Requirements:Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required such as:
- Modeling student movements and activities including but not limited to running, jogging, jumping, throwing, calisthenics, stretching, and body-weight exercises
