Job description

Employment Type : Full Time or Part Time (will consider splitting the positions)

Description of Duties: The PE / Health / Swim teacher delivers effective instruction to our multi-age / multi-grade classes K-8 in PE, Health, and Swim. Honey Creek emphasizes whole-child education and the development of rich relationships with students. The PE teacher collaborates with classroom teachers on themes, projects, and service activities. The teacher will showcase the year's curriculum and student achievements at the end-of-year PE Play Day for families and the community.

Requirements :

  • Possesses or is working toward a Michigan teaching certificate applicable to the teaching assignment.
  • Possesses or is working toward, or is willing to work toward a lifeguard certification.
  • Possesses or is working toward, or is willing to work toward a WSI certification.
  • Ability to engage students’ emotional intelligence and support students with diverse abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles, using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Commitment to anti-racist work and advancing community and justice in education.
  • Dedicated to creating a culture of well-being and self-improvement, possibly through collaborative activities.
  • Focus on fostering empowered learners, ethical and global citizens, and resilient individuals.
  • Flexibility and problem-solving skills to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understanding and commitment to multi-age groupings.
  • Current physical with no restrictions.
