Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Physical Domain Lead to provide senior-level oversight, coordination, and technical leadership for the Physical Domain within the POTFF program. This role supports SOF mission readiness, operational availability, resilience, and career longevity through integrated human performance services spanning sports medicine, strength and conditioning, injury mitigation, rehabilitation, and performance nutrition.

This position is pending upon contract award and requires U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 7-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, physical therapy, exercise science, kinesiology, nutrition, human performance, or a closely related field.
  • Professional certification or licensure such as ATC, PT, CSCS, RD/RDN, or equivalent.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams coordinating complex service delivery or advising senior stakeholders.

Job description

Maximus is seeking a Physical Domain Lead to provide senior-level oversight, coordination, and technical leadership for the Physical Domain within the Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) program. This role supports Special Operations Forces (SOF) mission readiness, operational availability, resilience, and career longevity through integrated human performance services spanning sports medicine, strength and conditioning, injury mitigation, rehabilitation, and performance nutrition.

This position is pending upon contract award.

U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope including facilitating and preparing all planning activities and artifacts.
  • Oversee and manage large multi-project programs including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain a master and individual resource plan and required documents for projects.
  • Baseline all projects and capture actual metrics for historical metrics and Level of Effort (LoE) forecasting.
  • Review deliverables prepared by team before providing to management and customers.
  • Effectively apply the PMI methodology and enforce project standards on all projects.
  • Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Minimize risk exposure on projects.
  • Communicate relevant project information to management, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Resolve and/or escalated issues within a reasonable amount of time taking in consideration impact on the project.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Track and maintain lessons learned and utilize lessons learned on subsequent projects.
  • Ensure all projects are properly closed out.
  • Supervise staff by providing direction, input, and performance feedback.
  • Serve as escalation point to prioritizing workloads and resolving issues.
  • Act as liaison for assigned vendor(s), including performance and SLA monitoring, and supporting system and business process changes.
  • Participate in the drafting of vendor contracts, addendums, SOWs, RFPs/RFIs, change requests, and requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement teams.
Minimum Requirements

'- Bachelor's degree in related field.

  • 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

'- Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, physical therapy, exercise science, kinesiology, nutrition, human performance, or a closely related field.

  • Professional certification or licensure appropriate to the discipline, such as ATC, PT, CSCS, RD/RDN, or an equivalent credential.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting human performance, sports medicine, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, performance nutrition, or related readiness programs.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating complex service delivery, or advising senior stakeholders in an operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based injury prevention, rehabilitation, physical training, recovery, readiness, and performance optimization practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical, operational, program management, and government stakeholders.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen per contract requirements.
  • Must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance.
  • Must be able to satisfy all contractual and government-designated eligibility requirements applicable to the position.
  • Must maintain all required professional licenses and certifications in good standing.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, mission-focused environment and adapt to changing operational priorities.
  • Travel or nonstandard work hours may be required based on program and customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or advanced credential in a human performance, rehabilitation, clinical, nutrition, or leadership-related discipline.
  • Prior experience supporting SOF, military, tactical, federal, or other high-demand operational populations.
  • Experience supporting POTFF or a similar integrated human performance, readiness, resilience, or force preservation program.
  • Familiarity with program evaluation, data-informed decision-making, quality assurance, and performance reporting.
