Physical Design Methodology CAD Engineer

Join our Silicon Technologies group as a Physical Design Methodology CAD Engineer, where you'll contribute to designing and manufacturing next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chips (SoCs). Your work will ensure Apple products and services operate seamlessly, enabling millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in cross-functional teams to address physical design challenges.
2. Develop innovative physical design and optimization solutions.
3. Create and support implementation flows for multiple projects and teams.
4. Maintain custom CAD tools for implementation and signoff.
5. Develop flows for deploying new technology nodes.
6. Innovate tools and methodologies for optimal PPA and productivity, including ML-based solutions.
7. Collaborate with teams such as physical design verification, RC extraction, IR, and static timing analysis.
8. Work with EDA tool vendors to resolve issues and improve tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proficiency in scripting languages like Tcl, Python, or Perl.
• Bachelor's degree or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of VLSI/Physical Design fundamentals through coursework or internships.
• Experience with CAD tools, flows, or PD methodologies.
• Understanding of physical design analysis such as extraction, timing, noise, and verification.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $115,700 to $174,200, depending on skills, experience, and location. Apple offers additional benefits, including stock programs, comprehensive health coverage, retirement plans, educational reimbursements, and more.
