Canal Insurance Company is seeking a qualified Physical Damage Claims Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle auto, truck, and other motorized vehicle damage claims. Responsibilities include gathering affidavits and reports, verifying coverage, and determining losses within authority.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of auto property damage adjusting or repair experience, familiarity with basic insurance and tort law, and solid tech skills.
The Physical Damage Claims Adjuster is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of auto, truck, and other material
and physical damage claims, including but not limited to theft, fire, and vandalism.
Bachelor's degree or commensurate
experience required. Adjuster's license required.
Minimum of four years auto property heavy equipment damage adjusting or repair experience required. Familiarity with basic insurance and tort law as well as understanding of basic legal principles and terminology as it relates to insurance operations preferred. Intermediate computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail) required.
Physical Requirements: Constant use of vision, hearing, and communication (oral and written in person and via telephone). Frequent concentration, standing,
walking, handling, reaching, and grasping. Occasional bending, kneeling and lifting (up to 25 lbs.). Heavy use of computer and office equipment.
Additional Requirements: Occasional travel may be required. Periodic work outside of standard business hours or on weekends may be required.
