Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Physiatrist (PM&R) for a Per Diem position in West Orange, NJ. The role includes providing clinical direction for patient care, planning treatment programs, and managing inpatient rehabilitation processes.

Applicants must be a graduate of a recognized medical school, board eligible or certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and possess a valid New Jersey license. Benefits include comprehensive insurance coverage, tuition reimbursement, and a robust orientation program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of medical school recognized by Council of Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association.
• Board eligible or certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
• Current and valid license to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey.

Responsabilités

• Provides clinical direction at the Kessler West Orange, Saddle Brook or Chester location.
• Performs initial evaluation on each patient to determine their need and ability to participate in rehabilitation.
• Plans appropriate treatment program within guidelines established by Medical staff.
• Initiates and modifies prescriptions as indicated by patient response to therapy.
• Serves as the primary physician to the inpatient hospital during rehabilitation.
• Conducts periodic re-evaluations of each patient to determine progress.
• Prescribes appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices as indicated.
• Keeps complete medical records of all services provided.
• Counsels patients’ relatives in proper care techniques and family education.
• Interacts with community-based referral sources to facilitate patient care.
