PRN Inpatient Physiatrist to Cover Call and Vacation for Rehab Units
Inpatient Rehabilitation Medicine
WellSpan Health is seeking an experienced Physiatrist to provide PRN coverage for established Inpatient Rehabilitation Units in Lebanon and Ephrata, PA. This opportunity is ideal for a physician seeking flexible, meaningful clinical work with predictable scheduling.
Position Highlights
Coverage Need:
- One weekend per month call coverage for both units. Primarily home call with in‑person care as needed
- Approximately12 weeks per year.Weekday coverage for vacations/scheduled time off. 6 weeks in Lebanon and 6 weeks in Ephrata (Lancaster County)
Weekend Call Coverage
- Provide call coverage for inpatient rehab units at:
- WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital offsite Rehab Unit (Lebanon):
14‑bed unit | Average census 10–11 patients - WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital (Lancaster County):
8‑bed unit | Average census 5–6 patients
- Perform admissions as needed
- Brief daily nursing call to review charts, labs, vitals
- No routine rounding on weekends unless clinically indicated
- Sites are approximately 40 minutes apart; admissions typically occur at only one site per weekend
Weekday Coverage (Scheduled Time Off)
- Coverage occurs at one rehab unit only to cover our physiatrists time off
- Daily rounding on all patients, admissions, and discharges
- Daily 15‑minute morning huddles
- Evening calls are limited to the covered unit and typically minimal
- Schedules are available at least one month in advance
Ideal Candidate
- Physiatrist with minimum of 2 years of direct inpatient rehabilitation experience required
- Independent, clinically confident, and collaborative
- Well‑suited for a physician seeking flexibility, balance, and continuity of care
