Job summary

Stellar Health Group is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our therapy team in Massachusetts. This full-time position involves direct patient care, including mobility training, gait and transfer rehabilitation, ROM and strengthening exercises.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary staff, participate in home visits when appropriate, document in the medical record, and support discharge planning with equipment recommendations as needed.

Qualifications

• Current MA State License as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• Graduate of an APTA approved PTA program
• Must comply with state, federal and APTA standards of practice

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day treatment including bed mobility, transfers, gait and stairs, ambulation on various surfaces, ROM exercises, strengthening, stretching, balance and coordination.
• Communicate with other disciplines to enhance interdisciplinary team rapport and patient care

Qualifications for Physical Therapy Assistant:

• Current MA State License as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• Must be a graduate of an APTA approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Must comply with state, federal and APTA standards of practice when planning and carrying out treatment programs and other functions of a physical therapy assistant.

Responsibilities for Physical Therapy Assistant:

• Provide day to day treatment generally including but not limited to training in: bed mobility, transfers, gait and stairs, ambulation on various surfaces, therapeutic exercises programs for ROM, strengthening, stretching, facilitation or inhibition, reeducation, balance and coordination programs and various use of modalities
• Communicates with other disciplines as needed in order to enhance interdisciplinary team rapport and improve patient care
• Participate in home visits when appropriate, family conferences when appropriate, and in community awareness and marketing activities when appropriate
• Provide necessary documentation in the residents medical record
• Provides treatment as indicated by plan of treatment
• Communicate with other disciplines and interacts with staff as necessary, as indicated by the treatment plan
• Provide routine documentation and changes to treatments according in a timely manor according to policy
• Supervises rehab and restorative aids regarding patient treatments, ROM, ambulation and positioning of patients
• Record and submit in timely fashion all required documentation and treatment charges, according to policy and procedure
• Meets department standards of completion of discharge charts, including GG, home treatment programs and equipment recommendations following discharge according to established facility guidelines, policy and time frames
