North Spring Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a full-time PHP Utilization Review Coordinator to support our Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient programs.

Role Overview:

The PHP Utilization Review Coordinator assists in screening patients at the pre-hospital level to ensure admission criteria are met. Upon admission, they review documentation to ensure it reflects and meets criteria for admission, continued stay, and discharge. They communicate with clinical staff, Business Office, Admissions, Medical Records, third-party reviewers, and hospital administration to facilitate appropriate hospital care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct clinical reviews over the phone, evaluating charts for admission, stay, discharge appropriateness, and identifying high-risk cases.
  • Coordinate discharge planning with treatment teams and Social Workers, monitoring patient outcomes.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, acting as a liaison and patient advocate with insurance companies.
  • Alert the Director of Outpatient Services about potential review issues or denials and assist with appeals.
  • Monitor clinical documentation, report issues to supervisors or the Director of Outpatient Services.
  • Assist in screening patients pre-hospitalization to meet admission criteria.

Qualifications:
