Job summary

HCL Global Systems Inc. Covington, KY is seeking a senior software engineer to maintain and modernize legacy PHP applications while supporting migration to Angular/Node.js. The role requires hands-on TS competencies, Kubernetes experience, and Azure deployment.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of software development, strong Angular skills with Standalone Components, and secure coding practices. Experience with MySQL, RESTful APIs, and OWASP Top 10 is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance legacy PHP applications and provide Mend support for active legacy systems.
• Support the migration effort to Angular and Node.js, including TS components and modern workflows.
• Deploy and operate applications in Azure; use Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Identify, analyze and remediate security vulnerabilities including OWASP Top 10 risks.
• Design and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with enterprise systems.
• MySQL relational database experience.

Job description

Location: Covington, Kentucky (open to relocation, local candidates preferred)

The ideal candidate is a PHP developer who has experience providing Mend support to active legacy applications in the environment, while providing support to the migration to Angular/Node.js. These typescript competencies, along with Kubernetes and experience deploying applications on their own to Azure would greatly support the staff.

• Minimum of 7 years of software engineering development experience.
• Proven hands-on experience developing Angular applications using Standalone Components, Signals, and modern control flow syntax.
• Strong experience maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting legacy PHP applications.
• Experience modernizing monolithic applications and migrating functionality from PHP-based architectures to Angular and Node.js solutions.
• Proven experience identifying, analyzing, and remediating application security vulnerabilities including OWASP Top 10 risks.
• Experience implementing secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, input validation, and data protection controls.
• Experience with relational databases including MySQL.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with enterprise systems.
