Job summary

Lyte AI Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Photonics Validation Engineer to validate photonics sub-systems and modules, building test benches and driving root-cause analyses.

You will work with cross-functional teams on optical, electrical, and firmware testing, and contribute to test automation and high-volume manufacturing transitions. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with optical testing, spectrum/noise analysis, and data visualization using Python or MATLAB, plus strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Applied Physics, or related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in photonics validation, optical testing, or opto-electronic systems.
• Hands-on experience testing photonic components, subsystems, or packaged modules.
• Experience building test benches, fixtures, or automated test setups from scratch.
• Strong failure-analysis and troubleshooting across optical, electrical, and firmware domains.
• Experience with optical and electrical lab equipment (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, optical power meters).
• Proficiency in data analysis, automation, and visualization using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of coherent optical communications principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Build test benches and automated test setups from scratch for photonics systems, components, and modules.
• Design and run test plans across wafer, chip, eval board, and sub-module levels.
• Perform spectrum and noise analysis and FFT-based signal analysis.
• Validate coherent communication systems and modules.
• Conduct failure analyses to root-cause issues across optical, electrical, and firmware layers.
