Job summary

Luna Innovations Incorporated in Chino, CA seeks a Quality Inspector to join the Quality team. You will inspect optical components, assemblies, and calibrated equipment to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.

You will document results, support calibration programs, and collaborate across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to prevent defects and drive quality excellence. The role is on-site in Southern California.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in Quality or related field.
• 2–5 years in manufacturing, preferably optics/photonics.
• Proficiency with calipers, optical meters, and digital multimeters.
• Read engineering drawings, GD&T and optical specs.
• Experience with NCR, material disposition, and corrective actions.
• Strong documentation and ERP/MRP quality transaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections against drawings and specs.
• Measure with calipers, micrometers, optical meters to verify specs.
• Document results, generate reports, and disposition non‑conforming material via NCR.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to resolve issues.
• Support calibration programs for inspection/test equipment.
• Assist audits and CAPA with data and root-cause input.
