Job summary

AdvR Inc. designs and manufactures advanced electro-optic and non-linear photonics components, spanning R&D to production. The Photonics Engineer role supports production through assembly, characterization, and troubleshooting of photonic products, and develops SOPs for key processes.

The position requires a physics/optics background, strong lab skills, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver manufacturable and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years hands-on experience in optics or photonics.
• Experience with optical test equipment and measurement techniques.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow precise written and verbal procedures.
• Organized and dependable with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Device assembly, testing, and characterization for frequency conversion and phase modulation.
• Set up and perform experiments for R&D and communicate results.
• Develop and maintain experimental setups and SOPs for key processes.
• Support prototype builds, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Investigate and resolve production or customer issues.
• Participate in design reviews and drive continuous improvement.
