SummaryQuEra Computing, a frontrunner in the quantum computing industry, is seeking highly motivated and experienced full-stack Photonic Engineers. We are developing the most powerful and programmable quantum computers based on neutral atoms, and we would like to welcome experts in integrated photonics to join our effort in building large-scale photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for controlling atomic qubits. Individuals who are equally passionate about exploring new photonic devices, designing complex PICs, and conducting sophisticated experiments in a fast-paced environment will thrive in this role.
Responsibilities- Contribute to tape-outs and bring-up of high-performance photonic/optoelectronic systems.
- Design and simulate photonic devices and components
- Characterize PICs at the die and system level.
- Collaborate with foundry partners to advance the boundaries of photonics and quantum computing systems through iterative design-fab-test cycles.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to integrate photonic components into complete quantum computing systems.
Qualifications- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics or a related field, or 4+ years of experience with photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
- Deep understanding and practical experience across PIC workflows, from simulation and layout to experimentation and control.
- High comfort level working with fiber optics, free-space optics, laser alignment
- Strong automation experience and programming in Python
- Proven track record of innovation and accomplishment, demonstrated through an established publication record in relevant journals, patents, or products.
